BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE- Karl “the Flick Fanatic” Sides

DC comic’s two icons Square off and Wonder Woman comes out shining in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!

Zack Snyder (Man of Steel) directs the biggest battle in DC comic movie history between Superman (Henry Cavill) and Batman (Ben Affleck). Snyder also brings back the cast that lived through “Man of Steel” (Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Lawrence Fishburne) and a couple that didn’t (Kevin Costner and Michael Shannon). Dawn of Justice also marks the arrival of Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and cameos of future Justice League members the Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

Dawn of Justice begins with a quick origin story of Batman with the execution of Thomas (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Martha Wayne(Lauren Cohen) in front of their son. Bruce, left to be raised by his butler Alfred Pennyworth (Jeremy Irons). Bruce would grow to become a billionaire business man and playboy by day and crime fighting vigilante by night.

Bruce was in Metropolis during the attack by General Zod and managed to save a few people as the Wayne Enterprises building collapsed as Superman fought Zod. The lasting image of Wayne holding a child orphaned in the fight, scowling at the sky. Batman would continue his 20 year campaign on crime in Gotham City, but time and the death of his sidekick Robin (you see the uniform in the Bat Cave with the saying “The Jokes on You!”) has changed him. Batman is now branding criminals with the bat logo when he captures them.

The “Bat vigilante” is being notice by Clark Kent, a reporter at the Daily Planet across the bay in Metropolis. Perry White (Fishburne), editor for the Planet tells Clark to stick to sorts because no one cares about Gotham. It is 2 years after Zod and Clark is living with Lois Lane (Adams) and his alter ego is coming under fire by the government and protestors for deaths resulting from his actions. Superman meets with a congressional committee on meta-humans (super heroes), only to have a survivor of the battle with Zod in a wheelchair given to him by Lex Luthor, blow up the capital leaving Superman the sole survivor Continue reading
