Ansel Elgort drives the car and the new action film “Baby Driver”
Doc (Kevin Spacy) is a drug dealing crime lord in downtown Atlanta. He uses different crews each time he robs a bank….except for his getaway driver, Baby (Ansel Elgort). Doc’s crew of Buddy (Jon Hamm), Darling (Elza Gonzalez) and Griff (Jon Bernthal) take down a bank with ease and Baby races through downtown Atlanta eluding the police with some amazing driving! They all get away clean and make it back to Doc’s to split up the money.
Everyone gets an equal cut including Baby, even though Griff doesn’t agree. Baby’s cut ends up being just a stack of hundreds after Doc takes the rest claiming it goes to paying off his debt. Baby was in a car accident where his parents were killed and he was left with a buzz in his ears. Baby wears ear buds loaded with various types music on Ipods to drown out the noise in his head. Baby also uses the music to pace himself as he drives. Baby was stealing cars as a child and even stole Doc’s that was loaded with cocaine, so there is where baby incurred his debt with Doc.
Baby needs just one last job to pay off Doc, and get out. Baby spends time at Lou’s Diner where his mom worked when she wasn’t singing at clubs. It was at Lou’s where he met his girlfriend Deborah (Lily James), a waitress with the same love for music and dying to get out of town too.
Baby drives a new crew JD (Lanny Joon), Eddie (Flea) and trigger happy Bats (Jamie Foxx) as they take down another bank. This time a soldier is in the parking lot and with the guards begins shooting at Baby and the gang. Baby gets the crew away only to find out JD forgot his shot gun at the bank. This mistake would cost JD more than his cut of the cash! Baby gets his final cut and pays off Doc…..only….Doc explains he is square but NOT OUT!
Ansel Elgort is amazing as the driving savant in this cops and robbers flick! Baby Driver has better car chases than anything in Fast and Furious and will have you on the edge of your seat begging for more!!! Baby Driver is also loaded with music featuring Rock, R&B, Country and even easy listening tunes. Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) directs this fantastic flick and nails it.
