Friend vs. Friend, Avenger vs. Avenger as the Marvel Universe divides in the latest film Captain America: Civil War!

As a comic book fan and a film critic, I love that the Marvel Cinematic Universe knows how to cross promote their films and TV shows while introducing characters in cameos prior to their solo films. We met Nick Fury all the way back in Iron Man (2008), Agent Peggy Carter was introduced with Captain America and now we get a look at two new heroes in the new film Captain America: Civil War.

Civil War picks up where Age of Ultron left off with Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson)leading the new group of Avengers:  Falcon (Anthony Mackie) & Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) tracking down Crossbones (Frank Grillo) to prevent HYDRA from obtaining a biological weapon. The fight takes place in the streets of South Africa and there are numerous casualties including a group of students from Wakanda as Cap and his crew defeat Crossbones securing the chemical.

The governments of the world are demanding accountability by the Avengers after the battles in New York (Avengers), Washington DC (Captain America Winter Soldier), Sokovia (Avengers Age of Ultron) and now Africa. Secretary of State Ross (William Hurt) tells the Avengers they have to agree to supervision by the United Nations to continue policing the planet.  This is accepted by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and the military minded Rhodey aka War Machine (Don Cheadle), but Cap and Falcon think that they still know what is best for the heroes.

Branded the Sokovia accord, Iron Man, War Machine, Vision (Paul Bettany) and Black Widow all sign the accord. Widow agrees to go to New York to supervise the ratification of the accord. There is an explosion killing the president of Wakanda . The suspect Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan)! Cap now has to race the world authorities to find his childhood friend and bring him in before he is gunned down by the army. Cap helps Bucky evade the troops but they are finally captured along with a mysterious cat figure known as the Black Panther.

Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) aka Prince T’Challa, now the new King of Wakanda , is out for Justice for the death of his father by the Winter Soldier. Captain America is considered an accomplice and criminal for helping Bucky. The divide continues as Cap and Falcon call in Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) to help Scarlett Witch, Ant Man (Paul Rudd) and the Winter Soldier escape and prove his innocence. They make it to the airport where they are confronted by Iron Man, War Machine, Vision, Black Panther, Black Widow and new comer  “underoos” (named by Stark) aka Spiderman (Tom Holland)!

This is one of the best fights in Marvel history! You would think this epic battle royal is what causes Civil War, but it is not the entire story. The Winter Soldier has two more skeletons in his closet that unfold in the film and will rock an Avenger to his core.

You must see this film!!!! See it on the big screen and pay the extra for the 3D!!!

I loved this movie and plan to see it over and over again. I also think this is my favorite Stan Lee cameo yet! LOL!!! I will let you know there is a credit scene to stay for, but we won’t give away the specifics.

I’m Karl the Flick Fanatic telling you to spend the weekend at the theater taking in Captain America :Civil War! I would also recommend the folks at DC maybe go see it and takes some notes on how to do these movies the RIGHT way!!!
