Gerard Butler is back as CIA agent Mike Banning and tasked to save a new President in the new action flick “Angel has Fallen”

Mike Banning, CIA agent in charge of the presidential detail and goes by code name “Guardian Angel”. Banning is battling age, migraines and dizzy spells the side effects of his past on the job. We join Mike trapped in a building surrounded by gun men, turns out it is a training run at his friend Wade Jennings special forces training center. Jennings explained to Mike he was forced to open the facility when work for mercenaries dried up under the new President Trumbull. Banning told Wade he would put in a word with the CIA to possibly have the agents train there.

President Trumbull takes some time away fishing outside DC. The lake is surrounded by agents and Banning is on the boat with the president. Trumbull asks Banning if he is willing to take the position of head of the CIA. Banning agrees but wants to discuss it with his wife Leah (Piper Perabo). Banning has a migraine attack noticed by the president and asks to be relieved. As Banning boats back to shore with Agent Murphy now guarding the President, he see a large group of flying objects that turn out to be drones that attack all the agents and secret service details killing all of them and a few are heading for Trumbull’s boat. Murph throws the President in the lake and Banning is speeding back to Trumbull’s boat. As Mike arrives Murphy and the boat explode and Banning dives in the water to make sure the president survives.

The President arrives at the hospital in a coma and Banning wakes up to find himself handcuffed to his hospital bed. Vice President Kirby (Tim Blake Nelson) is sworn in as acting President and Banning is questioned by FBI agent Thompson (Jada Pinkett Smith) and charged with the attack on his fellow agents and attempted assassination of the President Trumbull.

Terror appears on the page and then on the screen in the new thriller “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”

The world is changing. There is war in Vietnam. In the small town of Mill Valley there is change brewing as well. A group of friends, Stella (Colletti), Auggie (Gabriel Rush) and Chuck (Zajur) are the nerds of the school and chose Halloween to get back at the class bully Tommy (Austin Abrams). On previous Halloweens Tommy tortured Chuck and stole his candy, but this year Chuck will have revenge. Chuck has prepared a bag of poop, has eggs and trash in his goody bag.

Like clockwork Tommy and his goons plus Chuck’s sister Ruth (Natalie Ganzhorn) drive down the street and target Chuck and his geek friends. As they roll up, they grab Chucks candy bag and find smelly trash and as they roll by Check lights the bag of poop and throws it in Tommy’s lap. The feces get all over Tommy and Ruth as his car crashes into a fence it is pelted with eggs. Tommy and his gang chase Stella, Ollie and Chuck through town and into the drive-in theater showing Night of the Living Dead.

 

Ramon (Garza), a stranger passing through town, gets caught right in the middle when Stella hides in his car and is followed by Auggie and Chuck. Stella tells Ramon about the local haunted house, the Bellows mansion where Sarah Bellows was imprisoned and tortured by her family.

While in captivity Sarah wrote scary stories in a book to pass the time and they said she died in that room and still haunts the mansion. Stella finds Sarah’s book and all of them are locked in the room by Tommy like the Bellows girl. Mysteriously the door is unlocked and the kids are freed. Stella notices that Sarah’s book has began writing a story on its own in blood!

Quentin Tarantino opens the door to Classic Hollywood’s back-lot to his fans and gives us a buddy flick with a huge twist in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood!

Quentin Tarantino directs his 9th feature film and this time he targets classic Hollywood in 1969. Tarantino has assembled an A-list ensemble cast headed by Leo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino and Margot Robbie to show us what it was like in Hollywood as the 60’s ended and the 70’s were coming in with Hippies, drugs, Spaghetti Westerns were born and one of the most horrific crimes was committed in the Hollywood Hills.

 

Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) is the classic Hollywood leading man, but famous for his role in a TV western Bounty Law. Rick has been partnered with his stunt double and best friend Cliff Booth (Pitt) who continues to double him, drive and basically be Dalton’s person assistant. Dalton has been cast as the “Heavy” lately opposite young up and coming talent at the studio. Rick and Cliff take a meeting with agent Marvin Schwarzs (Al Pacino), who turns out to be a fan of Dalton and westerns. Schwarzs pitches a new genre to Rick, Italian Westerns called Spaghetti Westerns. Dalton not a fan of leaving Tinseltown but begins to see the end of the road and parts are harder and harder to get. Booth has a harder time to get work away from Dalton with a clouded past that has directors saying no to the accomplished stunt man.

Bautista chases down a drug dealer using Uber in the new action comedy “Stuber”

Vic Manning (Bautista) and his partner Sara (Karen Gillian) are closing in on a drug dealer Tedjo (Uwais) attempting to make the arrest outside the Staples Center. Manning goes to blows with the criminal and losses his glasses leaving him handicapped with blurry vision and unable to shoot Tedjo. Sara confronts Tedjo and loses her gun and is fatally shot by the drug dealer.

Stu (Nanjani) is a retail clerk at a local sporting goods store with dreams of starting a spinning cycle bar with Becca (Betty Gilpin) the girls he is in love with. To earn extra money, Stu leased a new electric Prius and drives Uber for extra cash and a goal of a 5-star rating. Stu has the bad luck of getting the worst fares and his rating is suffering.

Peter Parker goes on a European vacation and Spidey ends up battling Monsters in Venice!

Spiderman Far from Home picks up immediately after the events of Endgame with a melancholy Peter Parker still reeling from the death of Tony Stark. Tributes and images of Iron Man are throughout the city and the question keeps being asked of Spiderman “Are you the new Iron Man?”  Parker decides to take a vacation to Europe with his class and leave the suit behind.

Happy Hogan is now a regular fixture in Peter’s life, mainly because he is seeing Aunt May (Marissa Tomei). Happy reminds Peter that Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. is trying to get ahold of him and Peter is avoiding him. Peter tells Happy, “I’m on vacation” and the teen has plans to have a romantic trip and tell MJ he likes her. Peter lands in Venice and his plan is progressing until he and Ned get back to their room and Ned is shot with a tranquilizer gun. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is holding the gun and explains,

“You are a hard person to contact Spiderman”.

Fury and Agent Marina Hill (Cobie Saunders) have been in Mexico investigating villages demolished by a sand monster. Fury explains that Spiderman is needed and he is coming with him. Peter tries to explain and asks if there is any other Avenger available, Fury says No. Nick introduces Peter to Quentin Beck and explains he is from Earth just not this one. Peter is exuberant over the idea that there is a multiverse.
