Pennywise, the dancing clown, is creeping back into theaters in the reboot of the Stephan King Classic “IT”!

Derby, Maine is like any other small town in America. Kids hang out in clicks, people pick on the nerdy ones and call them losers and the town bully spends all his time beating on the weakest ones. Derby does lead the nation on mysterious child disappearances.

Bill Denbrough (Jaeden Lieberher) suffers from a stutter when he speaks, so he and his friends are labeled “losers” by the kids at school. Bill in bed sick on a rainy day, but was still able to make his little brother Georgie (Jackson Robert Scott) a paper sailboat that he can sail down the street in the puddles. Georgie is unable to keep up with the boat that sails down the sewer. As Georgie peers down looking for the boat he sees a red balloon held by a clown who also has his boat.

Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) the dancing clown lives in the sewer and bites Georgie’s arm off and drags him in the sewer leaving only a puddle of blood. Other children around Derby begin to go missing. Bill won’t stop looking for his little brother and with the assistance of his friends Ritchie (Finn Wolfhard), Eddie (Jack Dylan Grazer) and Stanley (Wyatt Oleff) continue to search the sewers in hopes of finding a clue.

Ben Hanscomb (Jeremy Ray Taylor), the new kid at school and target of the town bully Henry Bowers (Nicholas Hamilton), spends his free time in the library researching the history of the town and the mysterious disappearing kids. Ben is trapped by Henry and his thugs and gets a beating and Bowers starts to carve his name in Ben’s stomach with a pocket knife. Ben manages to escape and runs straight into Bill and his friends.

Beverly Marsh (Sophia Lillis) is the only female in the “Losers group” after she befriends Ben and Bill after another attack by Bowers. All the kids share stories of odd things happening to them and visions they have that have a creepy clown in them. Ben explains his research and you see a clown in the news clippings. The kids use an old map and find out that the old burnt house is on the site of the well where the sewer meet. The figure this must be where the clown is.

Mike Hanlon (Chosen Jacobs), an African American boy that is home-schooled and works on his Grandfather’s sheep farm. Mike delivers meat to the butcher in Derby where he is also attacked by Henry Bowers. Eddie and Ritchie steal bandages while Beverly distracted the Pharmacy clerk, so they could patch up Mike. Mike explains he also has had visions and joins the group to hunt Pennywise.

IT (2017) is 1000x better than the original TV version that aired back in 1990. IT comes back to Derby every 27 years to feast on kids, so it is fitting that this new version of the Stephen King classic comes 27 years after the original mini-series! IT (2017) is classic King and even has a tribute to Kings other horror epic Carrie. Like the original mini-series this is only the first chapter……
