Peter Parker goes on a European vacation and Spidey ends up battling Monsters in Venice!

Spiderman Far from Home picks up immediately after the events of Endgame with a melancholy Peter Parker still reeling from the death of Tony Stark. Tributes and images of Iron Man are throughout the city and the question keeps being asked of Spiderman “Are you the new Iron Man?”  Parker decides to take a vacation to Europe with his class and leave the suit behind.

Happy Hogan is now a regular fixture in Peter’s life, mainly because he is seeing Aunt May (Marissa Tomei). Happy reminds Peter that Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. is trying to get ahold of him and Peter is avoiding him. Peter tells Happy, “I’m on vacation” and the teen has plans to have a romantic trip and tell MJ he likes her. Peter lands in Venice and his plan is progressing until he and Ned get back to their room and Ned is shot with a tranquilizer gun. Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) is holding the gun and explains,

“You are a hard person to contact Spiderman”.

Fury and Agent Marina Hill (Cobie Saunders) have been in Mexico investigating villages demolished by a sand monster. Fury explains that Spiderman is needed and he is coming with him. Peter tries to explain and asks if there is any other Avenger available, Fury says No. Nick introduces Peter to Quentin Beck and explains he is from Earth just not this one. Peter is exuberant over the idea that there is a multiverse.

JOHN WICK CHAPTER 3: PARABELLUM

Reeves and Berry team up to take down the High Table in John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum!

“Parabellum in Latin- Prepare for war”

We join Keanu Reeves as the assassin John Wick in the next chapter of his story immediately after he and “dog” leave central park in Manhattan NY, racing the clock on his 1-hour grace period given to him by Winston (McShane). Wick races to The NY Public library to retrieve some items hidden in a Russian novel sending his dog along in the taxi to the Continental so Charon (Lance Reddick), the concierge, to take care of him while he runs. Wick runs into Ernest (Boban Marjanovic) at the library and even though he still has time Ernest attempts to collect the 14-million-dollar contract only to have John kill him with a book!

John next navigates the streets of New York as his grace period expires and must kill assassins on his way to the Russian Theater. Wick takes out 3 Asians on motorcycles while he is on horseback! Wick meets with The Director (Angelica Huston) who directs ballet dancers as a front for training assassins for the Russian mafia just like she did with John Wick! The Director explains she is loyal to the High Table and asks John, “All of this over a puppy?” John adds,” and a car!”. John shows her the medallion and says he has a ticket and she is bound to honor it.  The Director punches Wick’s ticket that gives him safe passage to Casablanca.

Aquaman- Karl Sides (The Flick Fanatics)

Jason Momoa dives back into the role of the king of the seas in the new film “Aquaman”

Director James Wan (Furious 7, Saw) assembles an all-star supporting cast to help Jason Momoa show us the origin story of the Aquaman. Tom Curry (Temuera Morrison) is a lighthouse keeper and he discovers a body washed up on the rocks below. Queen Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) injured as she escaped Atlantis running from an arranged marriage. Tom nurses her back to health and the two eventually fall in love. Atlanna gives birth to a boy, Arthur, the prince that will unite the undersea and above ground worlds. The King sends soldiers after Atlanna, but they fail to bring her back…instead she elects to return on her own to save Tom and Arthur from further attacks. Arthur develops the ability to talk to fish and when his is picked on at the aquarium, a great white shark tries to break through the glass and come to his rescue!

An adult Arthur as the Aquaman is back home following the events of Justice League protecting people from evil. Pirates land on a submarine led by a man called Mantis and his father Jesse (Michael Beach), killing the captain and some of the crew before the sub is forced to surface. Aquaman drops in and wastes the pirates before battling Manta. Arthur traps Jesse under a torpedo and beats down Manta as the sub takes on water. Manta pleads for help, Aquaman tells them” You killed innocents, ask the sea for help”. Manta escapes just as his father sets of an explosion.

Arthur has been secretly schooled in the ways of Atlantis by Vulko, friend of Atlanna and right hand to King Orm (Patrick Wilson), Arthurs younger brother. Vulko sends Mera from Atlantis to bring Arthur to Atlantis so he can explain Orm’s plans to unite the kingdoms of Atlantis and conquer the surface world as Ocean Master. Vulko tells Arthur to find the trident of King Atlan in the desert kingdom because only the true heir of Atlantis can wield the trident and the Atlantean people will follow the heir.

Mile 22- Karl Sides (the Flick Fanatics)

Wahlberg, Cohen and Rousey lead a CIA black ops crew against terrorists in the new action flick “Mile 22”

Peter Berg brings together an all-star cast including Mark Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan, Rhonda Rousey and John Malkovich in the espionage action film “Mile 22”.

James Silva (Wahlberg), an orphan after his family are killed in a car accident. James took the path through the military and became one of the CIA’s best operatives. Silva is high adrenaline and a bit of OCD that he controls by snapping a band on his wrist.  Silva’s crew lead by Alice Kerr (Cohan) and Sam Snow (Rousey) goes by the code name “Overwatch”. The government handles espionage by first using diplomacy, then option 2 is the military and option 3 is OVERWATCH!

 

Mile 22 opens with Overwatch moving in on a house in the suburbs that has been identified as a KGB safe house and according to the cyber crew led by Bishop (Malkovich) there are 5 hostiles in the house. Overwatch descends on the house and captures all 5 Russian agents and begins processing them and searching for information on the computer drives. Bishop finds a sixth heat signature in the house and turns out to be another Russian agent in a hidden room. Bullets start flying and Russians start dropping but not before they release gasoline to torch the house. Silva is the sniper watching the back of the house while his team clears it. A young Russian that was burned badly makes his way out of the house and comes face to face with Silva. Bishop orders James to eliminate the agent so Silva shoots him in the head.

Mission Impossible: Fallout Review- Karl Sides (the Flick Fanatics)

Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt starring in a 2 ½ hour non-stop adrenaline rush, “Mission Impossible: Fallout”

“Mission Impossible: Fallout” is the third film in the story arc that has Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his team (Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson) battling the Syndicate. Hunt is delivered one of the classic mission impossible secret messages in a book that explains to Ethan that following the capture of Solomon Lang (Sean Harris), the former leader of the Syndicate, the remaining members are calling themselves “the apostles” and are now lead by a mysterious terrorist called John Lark. Lark and the apostles have set off plagues and have stolen technology to construct nuclear bombs. Hunts mission, if he chose to accept it, find Lark and recover 3 canisters of stolen plutonium before the apostles can set off the nukes.

IMF director Hunley (Alec Baldwin) meets Hunt at a military airstrip to explain they have no clue to the identity of Lark, only that he is meeting an arms dealer named the White Widow (Vanessa Kirby) in Paris. The CIA also shows up and saddles Hunt with agent August Walker (Cavil)to shadow him and guarantee the return of the plutonium. Walker is a blunt instrument killing any apostles he comes across leaving IMF with no leads to the identity of Lark.
