THE ADDAMS FAMILY (2019)- Karl Sides (The Flick Fanatics)

The 60’s TV classic is getting “animated” for a new generation with “The Addams Family”.

Villagers with pitchforks and torches run the Addams family out of Europe just as young Gomez was marrying Morticia. Gomez promises to find them a place that will be safe for them to raise their kids. Gomez (Issacs) and Morticia (Theron) make their way to New Jersey and hit an escaped mental patient with their car. Gomez hands him the bags and the Addams move into the haunted asylum on the hill. The patient is Lurch who becomes the Addams butler.

13 years later, Morticia and Gomez are joined by Uncle Fester (Nick Kroll) and Grandma (Bette Midler) to help raise their kids Wednesday (Moritz) and Pugsly (Wolfhard) who must prepare for the mamushka, an Addams family right of passage. Gomez’s right hand is literally a hand called “Thing” rounds out the Addams family. Gomez tries to teach his son sword play but Pugsly is all about explosives. Wednesday spends her day with her pet octopus and shooting her crossbow at Uncle Fester. Wednesday wonders what lies beyond the mist down the hill.

 

Margaux Needler (Allison Janney) is the town DIY TV host that wants to renovate everyone’s house flip the town and make herself rich. Margaux’s plan is working until the Addams make a visit to town. Wednesday makes friends with Margaux’s daughter Parker and decides to go to public school with Parker. Margaux makes a trip to the Addams house to try to renovate it but the house is haunte and the spirits have other plans.

Woody, Buzz and the gang head out for a road trip in Toy Story 4!

Toy Story 4 opens after the events of Toy Story 2 and Bonnie is growing up and decides she doesn’t need her Little Bo Peep lamp so her Mom sells it to an antique dealer. Woody says a tearful goodbye as he felt the need to stay with Andy.  9 years has passed and Andy is in college and Bonnie is about to start elementary school.

Woody faces the hard truth that he isn’t the favorite toy any longer when Bonnie leaves him in the closet at play time. Woody sneaks out and hides in Bonnies backpack when she leaves for school. Bonnie is shy and doesn’t fit in at school. Woody helps her covertly and watches Bonnie make a new friend.

 

Back in Bonnie’s room Woody tells the gang about school and they are all happy she made a new friend, then Woody explains Bonnie “MADE” a new friend and introduced Forky (Tony Hale). Bonnie crafted Forky from a spork and he’s her new favorite toy. Forky is confused thinking he is trash and must find the wastebasket.

POKEMON DETECTIVE PIKACHU- Karl Sides (The Flick Fanatics)

Who would’ve thought that Ryan Reynolds’s “soft spots” were a furry yellow video game character? Find out in the new animated comedy flick “Pokemon Detective Pikachu”.

Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) brings video game character Pikachu to the big screen in the animated comedy “who dunnit” Pokemon Detective Pikachu”. Ryan Provides the voice, attitude and wit for the furry yellow star opposite Justice Smith who plays Tim Goodman, a boy who grew up loving Pokemon, only to let them go following his mother passing away.  Tim chose to live with his grandmother instead of his father the police detective in Ryme City.

Tim is called back to Ryme city after learning his father passed away in a suspicious car accident. His Pokemon partner manage to survive but Tim’s father’s body was never found. Tim visited his father’s boss Lieutenant Hide Yoshida (Ken Wantenabe) to get the story and then went to his dad’s apartment to gather his things only to find Pikachu (Voice of Ryan Reynolds) hiding in the apartment. Tim and Pikachu are both stunned when they learn Tim understands Pikachu and can hear him. Pikachu tells Tim his father faked his death (he thinks) and they have to find him and who did it!

Howard Clifford (Bill Nighy) founded Ryme City, a place where Pokemon and man live together in unity. Together with his son Roger (Chris Geere) they are readying the city for the big Pokemon parade.

Wonder Park is a beautifully animated amusement park that is only a “wonder” for a select few.

June is a happy young girl that with her Mom and her imagination created the most incredible imaginary amusement park called “Wonder Park”. Together they invent new rides usually with origami paper or knick-knacks around the house then whisper the ideas in the ear of Peanut, June’s stuffed monkey and then in Wonder Park Peanut waves his golden pen and the new ride comes to life.

Wonder park has a group of ambassadors that include Boomer the bear (Ken Hudson Campbell), Greta the warthog (Mila Kunis), Steve the porcupine (John Oliver) and the beavers Cooper and Gus (Ken Jong & Kenan Thompson) that great the visitors and assure them of a “splendifforous” time. After a night of “creation” in Wonder Park, Mom tucks June into bed and tells her she is the heart of the park and someday she can make it come true.

Hiccup and Toothless must seek out the mysterious “Hidden World” in order to save their dragons in the finale of the animated series, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

Under Hiccup’s leadership, his clan of Vikings have turned their island into a dragon recue facility with the “pets” over-running Birk and forcing the young leader to turn to another island for his people to keep the dragons safe. Hiccup and girlfriend Astrid lead nightly raids against trappers freeing the dragons bringing them back to Birk.

The leaders of the hunters bring in an expert, Grimmel, a dragon killer and specializes in killing night furies like toothless. Grimmel wants Hiccup’s dragon because Toothless is the last night fury alive. Grimmel sets a trap and that evening he confronts Hiccup, Toothless and the rest of the clan. The gang manages to escape but Grimmel has plans to use a white Light Fury to draw out Toothless and lead him to the island that houses all these dragons.
