Felicity Jones brings the struggles and fights for equality by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in the new biopic “On the Basis of Sex”.

Director Mimi Leder (Shameless) with her first big screen project brings the story of lawyer/professor of sexual equality Ruth Bader Ginsburg to the big screen in the new biopic “On the Basis of Sex”. Felicity Jones takes on the lead role with Armie Hammer as her husband Martin.

Ruth Ginsburg is one of nine ladies invited to attend Harvard Law School with a class of 500 men that includes her husband Martin. According to Dean Griswold this is something new Harvard is trying, and then asked the girls to introduce themselves and explain why they are there “taking the place of a man?” Ginsburg took exception to this and proceeded to become the best student in her class even though she was continually passed over for opportunities to participate in class. Ginsburg was married with a baby girl and had to manage the family with her studies.

Mortensen and Ali make an unlikely duo in the new roadtrip “buddy” film , “The Green Book”

The “Green Book” is a directory used to find businesses in the south that welcomed black people in the 60’s.

Comedy director Peter Farrelly (Something About Mary, Dumb & Dumber) brings the true story of Dr. Don Shirley, an African American genius pianist and leader of the Don Shirley trio and the tale of his tour of the deep south in the 1960’s.

Shirley (Ali) turned down money and the simplicity of touring his trio though the north in his way of a “civil rights” tour of the deep south. Dr. Shirley, not being completely naïve, knew he would nee a driver that would handle the site arrangements and his protection. The record label reached out to a New York local Tony Lip (Mortensen).

Rami Malek “Will Rock You” in the new rock biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody”

Farrokh Bulsara, a teen from Zanzibar, Tanzania who moved to London at the age of 17 working at Heathrow Airport but dreamed of becoming a songwriter. Farrokh would spend nights in the clubs listening to bands when he met Brian May and Roger Taylor of the band “Smile”. Smile had just lost their lead singer opening the door for Farrokh with a quick audition to walk in to the role. Farrokh changed his name to Freddie Mercury, Brian found a bass player named John Deacon and changed the name of the band to Queen!

Queen was doing the clubs when Freddie convinced the boys to sell their bus and record an album. Queens self-titled first album featured the hit song “Keep Yourself Alive” and got the band a meeting with John Reid (Aiden Gillen), a music manager that handled Elton John and was able to get them a deal with EMI records. Following the success of the third album “Sheer Heart Attack” and the hit single “Killer Queen” the band was booked on a tour of the United States.
